Randy Hux is a licensed fiduciary, former Certified Public Accountant with Ernst & Young in Houston, Texas, and Founder of Hux Capital Management. Born and raised in Texas, Randy brings more than two decades of experience helping individuals and families across the country prepare for retirement, reduce taxes, preserve wealth, and build legacies that can positively impact future generations.
After beginning his career with one of the world's most respected accounting firms, Randy discovered that while financial expertise is essential, what families value most is having someone they can trust through every stage of life. That belief became the foundation upon which Hux Capital Management was built—a firm committed to honesty, transparency, personalized advice, and always placing clients' interests above everything else.
Now based in Lafayette, Louisiana for more than 30 years, Randy has become deeply rooted in the community he proudly calls home. He has taught Derivatives in Finance at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, combining technical experience with a passion for educating others. He believes clients should never be expected to blindly trust an advisor. Instead, they deserve to understand the reasoning behind every recommendation so they can make informed, confident decisions for themselves and their families.
Beyond his work with clients, Randy believes success is measured not only by what we achieve, but by how we serve others. He actively supports veteran-focused organizations including Warrior Bonfire Program and HelpVet.net, as well as charities such as Tunnel to Towers Foundation and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
While Randy is passionate about helping families become financially confident, he believes true wealth extends far beyond investment accounts. Money can provide comfort, opportunity, and peace of mind, but it cannot create lasting happiness. In Randy's view, happiness is an inside job—built through faith, meaningful relationships, good health, personal growth, purpose, generosity, and living with integrity. Financial independence simply gives people the freedom to spend more time doing what matters most with the people they love.
That philosophy shapes every relationship Randy builds. Rather than focusing solely on investment performance, he helps clients build lives filled with confidence, balance, purpose, and freedom. Whether developing tax-efficient strategies, designing retirement income plans, helping reduce lifetime taxes, preparing loved ones through thoughtful estate planning, or helping families leave a meaningful legacy, Randy believes money should always be viewed as a tool to support the life you want to live—not the source of your happiness.
A graduate of Texas A&M; University with a degree in Finance, Randy combines technical
knowledge with the heart of a teacher and the mindset of a coach. He has coached college baseball, where teams he coached won two National Championships. While championships are special, Randy believes the greatest victories come from helping people develop discipline, character, perseverance, humility, and a genuine desire to serve others.
Outside the office, Randy enjoys spending time with his wife, Tina, and living an active outdoor lifestyle. Together they are blessed with four adult children of whom they are incredibly proud. He enjoys rigorous exercise, golf, tennis, pickleball, hunting, fishing, and spending time on the river. He believes taking care of your physical health is just as important as taking care of your financial health because both contribute to living a longer, fuller, and more meaningful life.
Above all else, Randy strives to live according to the values that guide both his personal life and his business: faith in Jesus Christ, an unwavering love for family, humility, service to others, personal responsibility, gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy, and the belief that a person's character will always matter more than their accomplishments.
At Hux Capital Management, clients are never viewed simply as accounts or portfolios. They are families, each with unique hopes, challenges, dreams, and values. Randy's goal is to become one of the most trusted advisors in their lives—someone they can confidently turn to for wisdom and guidance through life's most important financial decisions for decades to come.
“At the end of the day, my goal isn't simply to help you retire. It's to help you live well, worry less, and leave your family better off—not just financially, but in the values and legacy you pass on to the next generation.” – Randy Hux
